Shots fired in Eyota Friday night

The Olmsted Count Sheriff's office responded to a report of shots being fired in Eyota Friday night.

Deputies were called to the 200 block of Rena-Belle Street Northwest around 11:30 p.m.

They found a car with a cracked windshield parked on the street and two 9 millimeter shell casings near the car.

A 22-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, who had been in the car earlier that night, were found at their home in rural Winona County.

They said they were waiting for a friend to give them a sober ride home.

That's when two men approached them with a gun and demanded everything they had.

The male victim said he then ran away and heard the gunshots behind him.

The woman stayed behind.

The suspects reportedly took the keys, but did not steal the car.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating further to clear up inconsistencies in the reports from the victims.
