Minnesota's warm December beginning brings golfers to the course

Posted:

Judging by Saturday's weather, you would have no idea it was an early December day in southern Minnesota. Some golfers decided to use that to their advantage.

Willow Creek Golf Course said they were busy all day, and that the nice weather allowed them to keep the course open this late in the year. A rare sight to see as golfers were getting their last tee shots in before the sun went down.

The golfers themselves were excited to say they played golf in December.

"Good to see open for a nice weekend. We golfed in February and now we golfed in December, so it was a good golf season. We had a nice Saturday and we should be out snowmobiling, but it's nice out so we're golfing," said golfer Jason Vaith.

"Honestly, it's kinda nice to get another weekend of golf in before it starts freezing, so I don't mind it," added Kyle Lawler.

In the calm before the storm, a lot of people were out on Saturday morning enjoying the snow on the trees or getting in a little ice fishing.
