Hormel Foundation plans to donate millions in 2018

AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) -

The Hormel Foundation is planning once again to give out millions of dollars next year.

The announcement shows there's $8.2 million being set aside for Austin area organizations in 2018 in the form of grants and contributions.

The recipients include Austin Area Foundation, Austin Public Schools, Austin Scholarship Committee, Austin Salvation Army, Austin Community Charitable Fund, Austin Community Growth Ventures, Cedar Valley Services, City of Austin, Mayo Clinic Health System - Austin, the Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota, Riverland Community College, United Way of Mower County, and the YMCA.

"Thanks to the continued success and innovation of Hormel Foods, people around the world benefit from funds managed and distributed by the Hormel Foundation to help local organizations carry out their important missions," said Hormel Foundation Chair Gary J. Ray.

The Hormel Foundation says in all, it's put $244.5 million back into the community.
