A pair of Gold Gloves were awarded to Minnesota Twins as second baseman Brian Dozier and center fielder Byron Buxton have been picked by a vote of American League managers and coaches as the best defenders at their positions.
It's the first time since Joe Mauer won a gold glove as a catcher back in 2010 that a Minnesota player has earned the honor.
Buxton and Dozier also become the first Twins teammates to win Gold Gloves in the same season since Torii Hunter and Johan Santana did it back in 2007.
Buxton saved 24 runs this season, no outfielder had more than 15. Buxton joins Kirby Puckett won six Gold Gloves, and Torii Hunter who won seven, as Twins center fielders to win the award. Dozier is the first second baseman to win it for the Twins since Chuck Knoblauch in 1997.
