UPDATE: Police locate man in rollover crash in NE Rochester

UPDATE: Rochester Police release more information on a rollover crash in Northeast Rochester.

According to RPD, a car was going east on East Circle Drive when it lost control, went off the road and rolled several times down a steep embankment. When the car came to a rest, the driver ran away.

Police said the driver was reported at the nearby Kwik Trip 45 minutes later asking the clerks to use their phone. The man made several calls outside the store and then when he came back inside, asked them not to call police.

The man was later picked up by another car. The clerks wrote down the license plate number of the car before it left and called police. Officers then went to the home and found the man inside the car. Officers said the man had burrs on his clothes, as if he had been in the woods.

The driver admitted to being the man they were looking for and that he crashed because he saw a deer on the road and tried to avoid it.

Officers said they smelled alcohol on the man's breath. Police are waiting for BCA blood results.

The driver could face charges including: DWI and Leaving Scene.
