State lawmakers continue checking out potential bonding projects in Southeast Minnesota

As part of their tour of proposed sites to receive funding from the next State Bonding Bill, members of the House Capital Investment Committee visited projects in Fillmore County on Wednesday morning.
Representative Greg Davids invited members of the committee to the area to learn more about some of the proposals.
The Committee first toured the Chatfield Center for the Arts Wednesday morning, followed by the DNR Fish Hatchery in Lanesboro. The hatchery plays a vital role in the care of trout and other fish, but it has been through trying times and is in need of repairs.
"The pillars that support the current building are starting to rust out at the bottom," said Representative Dean Urdahl, (R) Grove City. "We're being made aware of the needs to replace this hatchery with a new one."
Later in the morning, the group attended for a bike trail presentation at Niagra Cave. The group also visited Austin for a waterway project tour.
