ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

The Minnesota State Patrol has released the name of a Canadian man killed in a wreck in Rochester Saturday morning.

According to the incident report, 25-year-old Michael Doan, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, died in the crash, which happened at around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The State Patrol says Doan was driving his 2013 Nissan Altima on the 4,500 block of Highway 14 on the west side of Rochester, when his car ran off the road, went into a ditch, hit a utility pole, before flipping onto its roof in some tall weeds.

The State Patrol says Doan was wearing a seat belt. But investigators have not said what caused him to drive off the road.

Doan played goaltender or the Southern Professional Hockey League
