Taylor joined KTTC/KXLT in August 2016 as a Sports Anchor and Producer. She graduated in May 2016 from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Mass Communications - Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Communication Studies.
Prior to KTTC, Taylor was heavily involved in the award winning UTVS News (the student ran television station throughout the St. Cloud area). While there, she was station manager for two years, while also being a sports anchor, news and sports producer, reporter, and even director during her four years involved. She is grateful for all of the people she met and the experiences she had along the way to get her to where she is today,
While at SCSU, the Broadcast Education Association and Upper Midwest Emmys awarded her numerous awards. She was awarded first place in the “College Talent” category for 2015 and 2016 through the Emmys, while earning third place for her anchor reel through the BEA in 2016. She was the reporter for the “Best of Festival” Husky Productions broadcast in 2015, and was the director for the “Best of Festival” UTVS News show in 2016. The newscast she produced for UTVS in 2015 also won first place through the BEA, among several other awards.
Her favorite experience was covering St. Cloud State Men’s Hockey through Husky Productions. There she was the ice side reporter for three years working alongside some of the top college hockey teams on the country’s award winning sports production team. She also had the opportunity to have nearly two dozen appearances on Fox Sports North as the reporter as well.
Taylor first got involved in news and sports in high school while sports anchoring, directing, and producing their weekly school newscast. Through that, she worked heavily with the Minnesota State High School League tournaments for football, hockey, and baseball.
Taylor interned in the sports department at KARE 11 during her final semester in college. She also works as a statistician for Fox Sports for the NFL on her days off and has also done work for the Big Ten Network.
Taylor is originally from Eagan, Minnesota and is thrilled to be close to home and being able to cover news and sports that she has grown up with. When not working, she loves to spend time with her family and friends, travel, and always has college hockey, the Red Sox, or football on.
