Shannon Rousseau - KTTC Rochester, Austin, Mason City News, Weather and Sports

Shannon Rousseau

Shannon joined the KTTC team in August 2016 as the weekend anchor, producer, and multimedia journalist after graduating from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in Radio TV Film and minors in Music and Communication.

While at UNT, Shannon worked for her campus station, North Texas Television, as a nightly news anchor, producer, and reporter where she got to cover the Marco Rubio rally in Dallas. While at ntTV, she anchored a Texas-Emmy winning newscast that provided live coverage of Texas' gubernatorial election.

Before coming to KTTC, Shannon interned with CBS-11 in Fort Worth during her senior year at UNT. Additionally, she interned in Dallas with WFAA, the ABC affiliate, during the summer the Dallas shooting took place. She covered the aftermath of the shooting, as well as President Obama and President Bush's visit to Texas.

Shannon was born in Texas, but has Minnesota ties. Her mother was born and raised in Winona, and her aunt was Miss Minnesota in 1976. Shannon is excited to return to her roots and explore all that Minnesota has to offer.

In her spare time, the Texas native likes to work out, attend NBA and NHL games, test run new restaurants, and travel. Shannon most recently traveled to Dubai and Kenya where she went on a 5-day African safari and was nearly stampeded by a herd of elephants after her car stalled.
