It's been almost six years since the September 23, 2010 flood that swept though parts of southeast Minnesota.

Pine Island and Millville were among the towns covered in water.

"It's one of the scariest things I've ever been through."

Residents had to evacuate and try to protect their homes with sandbags.

The flood waters became a homeowner's living nightmare.

"It's been in the yard before but not this bad into the yard before," said one homeowner.

Unfortunately, history has a way of repeating itself.

Today in Zumbrota, water almost touched the nearly 12 foot tall bridge.

MnDOT officials blocked both ends of the bridge; making sure pedestrians and drivers couldn't cross.

That didn't stop locals from snapping a few pictures.

They hope that the roadway will reopen tomorrow, but can't say for sure.

With more rain in the forecast, we can expect more water.

Hopefully the waters won't get to 2010 levels.

Back then they got through it by lending their neighbor a hand, or a sandbag.

If they made it then, surely 2016 won't be any different..

For now, it's up to Mother Nature to decide when the water will go back down.
