Sassoon Public Library closes old location

KASSON, Minn. (KTTC) -

Kasson Public Library said goodbye to its home of 27 years to begin a new chapter.

The library opened for the last time on Thursday at its current location and will start moving to its new building on 607 1st Street Northwest Friday.

No books can be checked out until the new one opens.

The new facility will be about four times bigger than the current 2,000 square foot building - allowing the library to better serve the residents of Kasson and its surrounding communities.

Director of Kasson Public Library, Art Tiff, recalled good memories at the current building, but looks forward to the new one.

"Feel very excited, really excited about this I think that this new building is going to a big plus for the city of Kasson and the surrounding area," Tiff said. We're just so excited about this, the staff is too, we're just, just, ecstatic."

The new facility will have its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 27th at 10 a.m.
