ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

People can serve their community in many ways, and for Fred Regal, that way is through food. He's one of KTTC and United Way of Olmsted County's 10 Who Make a Difference award recipients.

Regal is the owner of Regal Catering and co-founder of the 33-year-old fundraiser event Taste of the Town.

He has a love for food and shares it by donating and preparing meals for the Good Samaritan Dental Clinic volunteers. He also used to prepare Thanksgiving meals for the International Thanksgiving events, giving people who are new to America a glimpse of its culture.

Recently, Regal and his partner, Moe, got a food truck called the Back Alley Kitchen, and they're hoping to serve their food in downtown Rochester Wednesday.

The business owner says he is paying the good deeds forward and does not regret a moment of it.

"To be honest I felt very humble that people thought of me like this and I think that there's maybe other people that deserves it even more than I do," said Regal.

He says his serving experience has taught him that a smile is worth more than money.

The cook is almost 70, but it does not stop him from helping people.
