ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

Carrie Clark is one of ten people and groups being honored by KTTC and the United Way of Olmsted County for making a difference in our community.

For years, Clark has volunteered at the National Alliance on Mental Illness, or NAMI, before becoming a full time employee, helping people through Warmline, which is a support service for people living with mental illness. She also plays a key role in the Nicotine Dependency Center.

Clark says she uses her own life experiences as a guide to help others, encouraging them to choose healthier paths in life.

"And not only with Warmline, but Nicotine Dependence Center and five different boards. All of them as a consumer. They want my input. I have a mental illness. It's very important to give back to a community that has helped you out so much," said Clark.

Clark said she doesn't let her physical disabilities get in the way of helping others.

Those who nominated her for this award say they also love Clark's infectious laugh and zany sense of humor.

The 10 Who Make a Difference Awards ceremony will be Wednesday, June 22 during Rochesterfest.
