DONNELLSON, Iowa (AP) - A replica of an Iowa native's Alaska wilderness cabin is being built in a southeastern Iowa city. The Hawk Eye reports that craftsmen Pat and Denna Beelman are building a life-size replica of Richard Proenneke's wood cabin in the new Donnellson Public Library. Proenneke was born in Primrose, northwest of Donnellson, in 1916. After he turned 50, he spent 30 years living in a log cabin he constructed using only hand tools in Alaska.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa Supreme Court has overturned the conviction of a lottery security expert charged with attempting to claim a $16.5 million Iowa jackpot that he rigged. The ruling ordering a retrial for Eddie Tipton in the 2010 Hot Lotto jackpot is a victory for his defense but might have little practical impact. Iowa prosecutors already agreed earlier this month to vacate the conviction under a plea agreement.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A 22-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of starting a small fire at a Des Moines mosque. The Des Moines Register reports that the fire at the Islamic Center of Des Moines was reported around 10 a.m. Thursday. Police say the fire was extinguished by mosque staff by the time firefighters arrived. Police spokesman Sgt. Paul Parizek says security cameras show a woman, later identified as 22-year-old Aisha Ismail, pouring lighter fluid on a carpet and then starting the fire.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - A divided Iowa Supreme Court has overturned orders requiring an ethanol company to pay $2.5 million to a lab manager who suffered severe workplace sexual harassment from her boss. The court says that jurors who ordered Homeland Energy Solutions to pay Tina Haskenhoff $1.4 million in damages for back pay and emotional distress were given faulty instructions during the monthlong 2014 trial.
