KASSON, Minn. (KTTC) -

Kasson-Mantorville Middle School 8th graders Lydia Mindermann and Andrea Richard have created the Mayo Free Time app for Android phones. As a reward for their hard work, they may get a chance to show it off to the President.

The students were invited to President Obama's sixth and final White House Science Fair to present their app. The app is designed to help Mayo Clinic patients and Rochester visitors find things to do in the Med City and surrounding communities, such as Thursday's On First, Social Ice, dining and shopping options, outdoor activities and much more.

Their coach, Sharie Furst, has been with them every step of the way and is proud of all they've accomplished.

"Our real goal is to make a difference for the community, whatever community problem we solve, if we do that we've accomplished our goal. Their fabulous work and dedication has shown off and people have seen it and I'm very proud of them," said Furst.

They're leaving Monday, April 11, to head to the nation's capital. They'll present their app at the Science Fair on Wednesday, April 13.
