MnSCU vice chancellor visits RCTC to discuss issues concerning president McClellon

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -

The controversy surrounding Rochester Community and Technical College president Leslie McClellon has grown in the past two weeks, with several associations on campus calling for her removal. This week, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities officials took a big step to try and resolve the situation.

According to MnSCU, vice chancellor Mark Carlson visited RCTC both Monday and Tuesday to discuss the issues with representatives from the concerned groups. Carlson's first meeting came the same day the RCTC student senate sent a letter to MnSCU demanding president McClellon's removal

Some students, staff, and faculty co-signed a similar letter sent to MnSCU last week; that letter listed staff firings, an "atmosphere of negativity," and extravagant spending as their main concerns.
