Police believe they have the alleged shooter in Monday afternoon's fatal shooting in Southeast Rochester behind bars, after an early Tuesday morning standoff in Faribault. It all began Monday morning on the 300 Block of 31st Street NE in Rochester, where a man said he was robbed at gun point. Courtney Eli Ocegueda, 19, came running through a woman's backyard saying that he had been robbed. The woman then called Rochester police late Monday morning. Two hours later officers responded to a report of shots fired near Park Lane Southeast and Marion Road Southeast.

Trumane Gillmore, 22, of Rochester was killed, and two other men were wounded. Rochester police believe Ocegueda was the gunman. Authorities said a vehicle supposedly used in the robbery, was also seen at the shooting. Capt. John Sherwin of the Rochester Police Department could not confirm if the victims of the shooting were the men who robbed Ocegueda.

"I don't know.  I mean our investigation into the morning robbery is still ongoing, but I can tell you the individuals that were victims yesterday were targeted, and we believe the shooting is in direct retaliation toward a robbery incident that occurred," said Sherwin.

Ocegueda fled to Faribault, where a standoff took place early Tuesday morning. The residence was evacuated, and Faribault police officers used tear gas to force him outside. Ocegueda was taken into custody around 6 a.m. Tuesday.  Authorities said they discovered clothing and a handgun they believe belong to the shooter.

Currently Ocegueda is under arrest and being interrogated in Rochester.
