10 Who Make a Difference: James Crawley

Posted:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -  James Crawley has been volunteering at Seasons Hospice for more than two years and has touched many veterans through the Vet to Vet program. He is one of our KTTC/United Way of Olmsted County 10 Who Make a Difference award recipients.

The Vet to Vet program gives veteran hospice patients a package that includes a certificate, a medal, and thank you letters from children. Crawley has delivered 112 of these packages, along with replacement military medals to veterans on hospice care.

As a veteran himself, Crawley relishes the opportunity to talk to fellow veterans about their service.

"There's nothing like talking to those guys, everything they did and stuff," Crawley said. "And all of them, I gotta say, without exception, when you thank them for their service, they'll say 'didn't do anything, just did my job.'"

Crawley will be honored with the other KTTC/United Way of Olmsted County 10 Who Make a Difference award recipients at Soldiers Field at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
