BLOOMING PRAIRIE, Minn. (KTTC) -- Some students in Blooming Prairie ditched cars and buses Friday morning and rode their tractors to school instead.

It's a tradition for students in Blooming Prairie to drive their tractors to school on the last Friday for seniors.

Just before 7 a.m. Friday, students gathered on East Main Street to ride their tractors to Blooming Prairie High School. It's a tradition that continues to grow larger each year. This is the third year the students are riding their tractors to school as an end of the school year tradition. Tractors of all makes and models joined in for the long haul to school, even a little guy got in on the action.

That student tells us driving his grandfather's lawn mower was something special he always wanted to do.

"He passed away a couple years ago in a tractor accident. It's been my passion to be a part of this and ever since he passed away it's what I've wanted to do," said Jeremy Hocking, a 9th grade student at Blooming Prairie.

The newest tractor on school grounds was a 2011 Challenge MT 465 B and the oldest was a 1939 John Deer model LA.

This is the last time Blooming Prairie seniors will take part in the ride, they graduate this Sunday.

Congratulations class of 2015!
