MINNEAPOLIS (AP/KARE) -- Protesters briefly blocked access to the main terminal at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Friday afternoon.

Around 100 people representing labor organizations blocked the road leading to the terminal for around 20 minutes to call for higher wages for airport workers. They were joined by Democratic U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison.

Traffic backed up, but no arrests were reported.

Friday's protest was organized in support of Delta Air Lines worker Kip Hedges, who was recently fired after speaking out about low wages.

In Minneapolis Thursday, about 100 people marched along the interstate, protesting the grand jury's decision. The protesters completely shut down the northbound side of Interstate 35, backing up traffic for miles. This protest remained peaceful, as police escorted the group along I-35 and into downtown to the Hennepin County Courthouse.

Protestors also made their way Thursday from the Walker Library in Uptown to the McDonald's at Lake and Lagoon, carrying signs and chanting.

The group is pushing for $15 an hour wages and union rights for all fast food workers.

The biggest hurdle for Henry was not physical, but mental. "Coming to terms with the fact that I didn't think I could do it first was very difficult," Hildenbrand said. "That was a low point for me." Judging from his performance, he surpassed his expectations, but says it's thanks to everyone else's help -- especially his parents.
