A new twist on the classic green bean casserole. Seasoned and seared sprouts tossed with crisp bacon, toasted cashews, Parmesan sautéed peppers and topped with onions straws

Ingredients

3# Brussels sprouts

¼ cup butter

1 cup white wine

8oz. cashews

1/4# cooked and diced

1 cup of Parmesan cheese

1 large green pepper cored & cut into thin strips

Salt & pepper

Directions

Preheat grill to 325 degrees

  • Trim away any dried out leaves and trim core and cut in half.
  • Diced butter into 1 inch pieces, add to cast iron skillet
  • When butter is melted add the sprouts too pan enough to fill the bottom of pan don't overcrowd. Let grill for about 10 minutes and then add wine and water and cover for another 10 minutes.
  • Sprouts should be fork tender at this point and most of the liquid should have evaporated from pan. Add bacon, peppers and cook until peppers are tender. Season with salt and pepper and add cashews and cheese and cover until cheese is melted. Serve right in the pan.
