Thanksgiving on the grill: Smokin’ maple sweet potatoes

Ingredients

5# Sweet Potatoes

8oz. Pecan pieces and/or halves

2 cups Marshmallows

½ cup maple syrup

3 cups Cornflakes

1/4# Butter

Cinnamon & Sugar

Directions

Grill To 325 Degrees

Part 1 Potato Prep
  • Rinse Potatoes and cut in half and place Skin Side Down on the Grill. Cook for about an hour or more until the potatoes are tender. Place on Sheet pan to Cool.
  • Once cool peel and dice potatoes into 1 inch cubes Lay in cast iron or heavy bottomed casserole dish
Part 2 The Topping
  • Whip butter until creamy and smooth. Add marshmallows, maple syrup, and mix well
  • Slowly add Pecans and Cornflakes to mixtures and be careful not to over mix or break they will break up 
  • Smear Topping over top of potatoes
Part 3 the Grilling


  • Bake at 325 for about 3o minutes until the topping is melted and the potatoes are hot
