Harriet Bishop Elementary student organizes walk to raise money for cancer research

Posted:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- People walked for a cause in Rochester Friday morning.

Eight-year-old Faith Martin came up with the idea herself. Her mom, Tessa, was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer, so Faith wanted to find a way to help. With the assistance of the staff at Harriet Bishop Elementary School, Faith organized a cancer walk to raise money for cancer research and awareness through Mayo Clinic.

The Martin family, along with Harriet Bishop students and staff took part in the walk Friday morning.

Faith will be presented with a check for the amount raised in the walk at an assembly on November 20.
