Miyagi, Japan (CNN) -- Residents of the northeastern city of Kesennuma, hit by the 2011 tsunami, have regained their title for Japan's longest sushi tuna roll in the thick roll category.

The city in Miyagi Prefecture hosted the event at a fish market on Sunday.

About 1,300 participants, including tourists, helped to make the 322-meter sushi roll.

They used 85 kilograms of big-eye tuna, about 550 kilograms of locally harvested rice and 1,700 sheets of "nori" seaweed.

Kesennuma had held the number one title until it was nearly destroyed by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

This year the city won it back.
