Fresh Vegetables Skewered with Ye Olde Butcher Shoppes Thick cut bacon and Jumbo Shrimp,

Mushrooms, Peppers and Onions

Grocery List

2# Shrimp Peeled and deveined tail-off

1# thick Sliced bacon

2 green peppers

1 yellow Onion

A dozen Cremini mushrooms

Cajun Seasoning


Preheat Grill to 400 Degrees

Thaw shrimp,

Cut peppers and onions into 1 inch chunks.

Clean mushrooms

Assembly of Skewers

Start with one full piece of bacon on end of skewers place mushroom next than fold bacon over mushroom, than add pepper and bacon and onion than bacon, than shrimp than bacon so the bacon serpentines around the vegetables and the shrimp. Repeat until the end of skewer

Place on grill and season, Cook about 5 on each side. Cook until Shrimp is Orange and bacon is Crisp

Jerk Sauce


1/3 cup cider vinegar

1/4 cup dark rum

3 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar

1 bunch scallions (white and green parts), roughly chopped

4 cloves garlic, chopped

2 jalapeno peppers diced seed removed

2 tablespoons Hot sauce

1 tablespoon freshly grated peeled ginger

1 tablespoon ground allspice

1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

In pot bring all ingredients to simmer and reduce by half, puree until smooth in blender
