Preview of Tuesday's primary election

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Although turnout for Tuesday's primary election is expected to be low, there are several races getting a lot of attention.

On the state partisan primary ballot, voters can choose their candidates for U.S. Senator. Voters will be able to choose from five Independence party candidates, five Republicans, and two Democrats, including incumbent Al Franken.

For Congress, two republicans are running. One of them will run against incumbent Tim Walz in the general election. For governor and lieutenant governor, five Republicans are running and two DFL teams will take on incumbent Mark Dayton. There are also choices for secretary of state, state auditor, attorney general, Rochester mayor, and Rochester School Board on Tuesday's ballot.
