ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- If you have been on Facebook lately, you may have seen many of your friends and family in videos dunking themselves in ice water as part of the Ice Bucket Challenge.  They're part of a movement to promote awareness and donations for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

It went viral after former Boston College baseball player Pete Frates suffering from ALS, challenged himself and others to dump a bucket of ice-cold water on his head. If you're nominated you have 24 hours to do the same, nominate others, and post it online. You have the option to donate to find a cure for ALS.

Reporter Mike Sullivan was nominated Thursday night and completed the challenge on the NewsCenter at 6 on Friday. He nominated Mayo Clinic CEO Dr. John Noseworthy as well as Governor Mark Dayton and Minnesota Twin, Joe Mauer.
