Stingers Top Loggers 6-3

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Nick Rivera hit a 2-run homer in the eighth inning Sunday to lead the Willmar Stingers past the La Crosse Loggers 6-3 at Copeland Park.

With the game tied at 3-3 in the top of the eighth, Dan Motl singled and came around to score on a Reagan Fowler double. River followed with his 12th home run of the season, a blast over Mike Nadratowski in center field.

La Crosse (29-29) opened the scoring in the first with a Luke Perscio RBI groundout. The Stingers would come right back with two unearned runs in the second on a pair of groundouts by Tyler Cohen and Sean Beesley.

Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Jack Meggs, the hero from Saturday night, singled to begin the frame. Nadratowski followed with a blast to right field to tie the game 3-3.

The Loggers now travel to Kenosha for a two-game series with the Kingfish on Monday and Tuesday.
