ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) --  Animals waiting for their forever home at Paws and Claws are getting showcased in a whole new light!  London-based photographer Tim Flach lead a photography workshop at the shelter on Friday and the animals are the models.

While photographers from various veterinary and health services are learning new skills, the shelter will get new professional photos of the animals to help get them new homes.  Portraying the animals' personality correctly through strong photography gives them a better chance of being adopted.

"Animals as well as people have different personalities or stereotypes, and the way an animal or individual happens to be portrayed by lighting, position, expression even with our four-legged friends it all comes true," said Joseph Kane, President of the BioCommunications Association. "I think it will make a very pointed perspective to the individuals here attending and take that back not only when they work with animals but people as well."

Flach is a world-renowned photographer with several international best selling books.  If you want to see more of his work, you can check him out at his website.
