Report: Rochester ranked among the 10 happiest cities

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Rochester is among the ten happiest cities in the country depending on how you look at one new report.

The "Unhappy Cities" working paper is co-written by professors at Harvard University and the University of British Columbia. The paper published by the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research uses data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that measured the level of satisfaction in people's lives.

Rochester ranked second when controlling for demographics. However, when controlling for demographics and income, Rochester ranked sixth.

The ranking also listed the ten unhappiest cities in the U.S. New York City came in at the top of the list as the unhappiest place to be.
