Rochester man faces charges after leading police on chase

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Rochester man is facing multiple charges after allegedly running through southeast Rochester carrying a handgun and then leading police on a chase.

David Ansell Dorenzo, 19, was taken into custody after 9 p.m. Thursday. Rochester police Lt. Casey Moilanen said a witness saw Dorenzo running with a gun in his hand in the area of 6th Avenue and 14th Street Southeast.

Dorenzo got into a car and the witness gave police his license plate number. Moilanen said when Dorenzo sped away, the officer stopped the pursuit because of the volume of traffic downtown.

When Dorenzo pulled into a parking lot in southeast Rochester, he was arrested.

Moilanen said Dorenzo is facing charges of fleeing in a vehicle, possession of stolen property, and possessing a pistol without permit.
