NBA player Kris Humphries gives local kids some tips

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Kids in Rochester geared up to learn the basics of basketball on Monday.

Kids ages 4 to 15 registered at 9 a.m. Monday to polish up some of their skills, and others learned the game for the first time.

This is the program's fourth year, and each year it grows in popularity.

Coaches hope that kids can grow to love the sport at the clinic and not only learn to work hard but to have fun while doing it.

"I hope kids have the chance to learn that if they don't play basketball, learning that basketball can be fun," said clinic director Tim Sension.
"Second of all working on their skills a little bit, playing some games, and having something structured to do."

Minnesota native Kris Humphries of the Boston Celtics worked with the kids.

He comes every year to talk with the kids about being a NBA player, and where hard work can take them.
