Man arrested for threatening man with knife in SW Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) --  A man is being held in the Olmsted County Jail for allegedly threatening another man with a knife.

Melvin Theodore McClellan, 54, was arrested after an incident with a resident in his apartment building.

Rochester police said a 44-year-old man was throwing fireworks onto the parking lot from an upper level at an apartment building at 1232 4th Ave. S.W. about 9 p.m. Monday.

McClellan was on the first floor and told the man to stop it, according to the report. Police said the incident escalated and McClellan pulled a knife on the man.

The threatened man left and called police.

Police said they are still investigating the incident.
