Thousands of dollars stolen from Rochester home

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Rochester family celebrating a wedding returned home to discover thousands of dollars in cash and jewels were stolen from their home.

Rochester police said someone broke into the family's home in the 1000 block of 13 1/2 Street Southeast last Friday.

The burglar entered the home by breaking a window and removing a screen.

Police said the home was ransacked.

The family told police that $14,000 in cash and $35,000 worth of jewelry were stolen from the home.

Eight adults were staying at the home, including some who traveled from abroad to celebrate the wedding.
