UPDATE: Oronoco man seriously hurt in crash with train

KASSON, Minn. (KTTC) -- An Oronoco man is hospitalized in serious condition at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus after the car he was driving collided with a locomotive Thursday near Kasson.

Dodge County Sheriff Jim Jensen said Lance Cariveau, 46, was driving north on County Road 9 just north of Highway 14 about 4:45 p.m. when his vehicle was struck by the locomotive.

The locomotive was not pulling any train cars at the time of the crash.

As of Friday afternoon, Cariveau was listed in serious condition at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus.
