Mayo Clinic Health System to outsource transcription services in Wisconsin

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC/AP) -- Mayo Clinic Health System has announced it will cut nearly 200 medical transcription jobs in Wisconsin.

Mayo said it will contract with Madison-based Amphion Medical Solutions to handle transcription services. The change is expected to be complete by Nov. 1.

The 188 jobs are in western Wisconsin where La Crosse and Eau Claire are hub cities. Mayo said it expects to save up to 40 percent by outsourcing the services to Amphion.

In Nov. 2013, Mayo Clinic Health System announced it would cut 82 transcription jobs in seven southeast Minnesota communities by March 2014 and outsource the work to Amphion.
