UPDATE: Woman in critical condition after moped accident in southwest Rochester
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A moped driver remains in critical condition Friday after an accident in southwest Rochester.
Rochester police responded about 2 p.m. Thursday to Sixth Street Southwest and Sixth Avenue Southwest. Capt. John Sherwin said Amy Armstrong, 50, was riding a moped without a helmet when she ran into the passenger's side door of an 86-year-old woman's car.
Sherwin said Armstrong's bone was exposed through her leg, and she suffered head injuries.
Armstrong was transported to the hospital in critical condition. As of 10 a.m. Friday, Mayo Clinic communications said Armstrong remains in critical condition.
The elderly driver of the car was cited for failure to yield right of way.
