Winona County board fires administrator

WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Winona County Board of Commissioners has fired its county administrator.

Duane Hebert had been placed on paid administrative leave in late March, and county spokesperson Susan Cooper said he was terminated Tuesday.

There was an outside investigation of Hebert's wife Theresa working for a Rochester company called Novel Energy Solutions, and how Winona County began doing business with NES.

Cooper told KTTC the investigation report "speaks for itself" and that the board has an agenda item next week on what will happen next with the administrator position.
