2 arrested after early morning armed robberies in northeast Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Two women were arrested after two early morning armed robberies in northeast Rochester.

A 32-year-old man told police he was in his apartment on the 600 block of 11th Avenue Northeast when he heard a knock at the door about 12:40 a.m. Wednesday. A man and three women were waiting for him, according to the police report. Two of the women had knives.

The victim told officers the man punched him and demanded money.  The victim gave him some electronics, according to the report. Rochester police Capt. John Sherwin said the victim told officers the group then went to the neighboring apartment where they stole a PlayStation and pitbull puppy.
Police recognized a nickname of one of the women. Officers went to her home and found the stolen puppy, along with another woman believed to be involved in the robberies.

Both women were arrested.
