Oronoco woman hospitalized after crash in Byron

BYRON, Minn. (KTTC) -- An Oronoco woman is hospitalized after a crash in Byron.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday to Highway 14 and Tenth Avenue Southeast. A Subaru Legacy traveling southbound on Tenth Avenue Southeast collided with the left side of a Chevrolet Suburban driving eastbound on Highway 14.

The driver of the Legacy, Heather A. Thompson, 39, of Oronoco, was transported by Gold Cross ambulance to Saint Marys Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Suburban, David D. Turpen, 68, and passenger, Doreen H. Turpen, 67, both of Battle Ground, Wash., were not injured, according to the report.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, Byron first responders and the Byron Fire Department assisted the Minnesota State Patrol on scene.
