Hundreds participate in 9th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Posted: Updated:
ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Hundreds participated in the 9th annual Grace Lutheran Easter Egg Hunt in Rochester on Saturday.

Thousands of plastic eggs filled with candy littered the lawn outside the church.  While the Easter Bunny carefully hid his eggs from children, families visited with his close friend, "the Hoppy Bunny."  Organizers said this Easter Egg Hunt is unique from other egg hunts.

"We call it an Easter egg hunt, not an egg hunt," said Joanne Rosener, Easter Egg Hunt Director.  "Because while egg hunts, in general, represent new life, to us, an Easter egg hunt represents the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  So for us, it's very important that we celebrate Jesus' resurrection."

The Easter Egg Hunt also featured family and faith-based activities.
