CAMP RIPLEY, Minn. (KTTC) -- A Minnesota Army National Guard soldier from Rochester was honored at the Minnesota National Guard Best Warrior Competition.
Rochester native Staff Sgt. Michael Walker of the 134th Brigade Support Battalion, 34th Infantry Division was awarded the honor of Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.
Staff Sgt. Walker was among nine Minnesota Army National Guard soldiers who competed in the Best Warrior Competition April 8-12 at Camp Ripley Training Center in Little Falls.
During the three-day competition, the soldiers tested their Army aptitude, conquered urban warfare simulations, board interviews, physical fitness tests, written exams, and warrior tasks and battle drills.
