NEW YORK (KTTC) -- Designer gowns, oversized limousines and over the top spending have become the norm in recent years when it comes to senior proms, but a new survey suggests the prom spending bubble has popped.
Teens and their families expect to spend an average of $978 on prom this year. That's down 14 percent from $1,139 last year.
Visa surveyed more than 1,200 parents of prom-aged teens for this study.
