Chill Frozen Out Of Playoffs After 7-3 Loss To Minnesota

La Crosse, WIS. (WXOW) ---- The Coulee Region Chill had everything in front of them, one game to earn one point and they were in the playoffs, but the Minnesota Magicians played the role of spoiler on Sunday defeating the Chill 7-3 at the Omni Center, ending the Coulee Regions playoff hopes.

The Magicians jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the 1st period, but Onalaska native Jessie Tredinnick scored his 15th goal of the season to cut the lead to one.

Gordon Wells scored two goals in the 2nd period for the Chill, but it was not nearly enough as the Magicians scored the final three goals to end the Coulee Regions season.

"Bottom line is we had our chances and came up short, obviously were disappointed you have to look at the successes we had this season as well up until this last month we played some pretty good hockey," said Head Coach A.J. Degenhardt  "for some reason or another we weren't able to pull out of this slump, we don't deserve to be a playoff team with the way we finished the season it's unfortunate but it's the way it goes."

Chill end the season 5th in the Midwest Division with a 31-28-1 record.
