PLAINVIEW, Minn. (KTTC) -- The CapX2020 project keeps coming farther south, as crews install footings for the power lines on area farms. However, one power line does not require a sprawling amount of land.
At Tuesday's Rochester Public Utilities board meeting, members discussed what to do with excess farm land.
Originally, entire farms across southeastern Minnesota had to be bought to make way for this project.
Now the board is talking about handing the reins over to Xcel Energy to manage and sell back the excess land.
