Worker rescued after falling from scaffolding at Olmsted Waste-to-Energy Facility


ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A worker was rescued from the Olmsted Waste-to-Energy Facility after falling several feet in a boiler.

It happened about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the facility on Silver Creek Road Northeast.

The Rochester Fire Department responded when the worker fell 6 to 8 feet from a fourth tier on the scaffolding to a third tier.

Firefighters set up a rigging system. It took just under an hour to get the man out of the boiler.

He was transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus for back pain.
