This time Overtime is no friend to Central


MENOMONIE, Wis. (WXOW)  For the second straight game the Central Red Raiders went to overtime. 

This time they end up on the losing end.

Rice Lake beats Central 64-55 in a Division 2 Sectional Semifinal game played in Menomonie Thursday night.

Central lead 29-24 at the half and 43-41 after three quarters.

But Rice Lake had a two point lead with under a minute to go.

Then Central freshman Kobe King hit a jumper with 12 seconds left to tie the game and force overtime.

But Rice Lake outscored Central 13-4 in the OT to put it out of reach.

Central made just 1 out of 11 field goals in the overtime.

Henry Ellenson had 25 points to lead Rice Lake.

Ethan Haberman led Central with 16 points.

Jerred Ambrose had 12 as well for the Red Raiders who finish the season with a 21-4 record.
