ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Rochester Police Department has received an anonymous tip to help identify a person of interest in a road rage assault last month.
As of 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rochester Police Capt. John Sherwin said officers are no longer seeking the public's help in the case.
Sherwin said a traffic dispute about 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 5 on 4th Street Southwest escalated into a verbal confrontation in the parking lot of First Presbyterian Church at 512 3rd St. S.W.
Sherwin said the person of interest followed the victim into the church parking lot where both individuals exited their vehicles.
The victim was initially physically assaulted/punched by the suspect. Sherwin said the person of interest then entered his car and drove at the victim, forcing him to jump out of the way causing physical injury.
