ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- As road conditions continue to affect our area, they are also taking a toll on car rental companies.
The demand for rental cars is high less than a week since last Thursday's blizzard.
Many people are still seeking rental cars to tide them over until their personal cars get repaired or towed and it's having some Rochester companies in over their heads.
Last week's monstrous winter storm sent 440 vehicles into the snowy ditches in and around Rochester. It has also caused an avalanche of phone calls and requests to local car rental companies. The influx of customers has left some companies high and dry for their auto supply.
Enterprise of Rochester has a wait list of at least ten people to get a rental car.
Hertz's parking lot is completely empty and it has even shut down its website for customers to request a rental car.
KTTC spoke with these companies today and they are doing the best they can to meet all of the hundreds of additional orders this week due to last week's blizzard. Some people though, may still have to wait a couple more days before they are on the roads again.
