Arcadia girls hoops built for the long haul

ARCADIA, Wisconsin (WXOW)  The Arcadia girls basketball team now stands alone as the pace-setter atop the Coulee Conference.

That's thanks to a signature win over West Salem last night in a battle of undefeated teams in conference play.

The Raiders using a strong second half to pull away from the Panthers.

They outscored West Salem 37-15 in the second half to turn a close game into a 19-point win.

Arcadia is 13-2 and unranked for the moment.

But their balanced scoring makes them a threat in the post season.

"With our scoring, somebody else is leading us all the time. We've had 6 or 7 leading scorers that can score 18 to 20 a game. I guess tonight is pretty balanced again. It seems to be the way our team goes," said head coach Paul Anderson.

"Not everybody can have a good game every single game so we have other people to look to. There's not just one person to shut down. You have to shut down all of us to beat us," said senior Alyssa Pronschinske.

Arcadia has won 8 in a row.
